Alistair Crerar is the Managing Director of Acre Design, specialising in residential architectural design projects including home extensions and refurbishments. With over 20 years of experience in the architecture and design industry, he has established a reputation for creating elegant, practical, and buildable solutions for high-value homes.

Before founding Acre Design in 2014, Alistair spent a decade in building control, assessing architects’ drawings and overseeing construction projects. This background gives him an exceptional command of compliance, buildability, and value, ensuring designs are not only beautiful but also robust, cost-effective, and deliverable on site.

Under his direction, Acre Design has grown into a structured, process-led practice that has guided more than 1,000 families across Newcastle, North Shields and the wider North East through extensions, refurbishments, and bespoke home transformations. Today, Alistair leads a skilled team of architectural designers and technicians, supporting clients from first concept to final completion.

Originally from the Scottish Highlands, Alistair has made the North East his home with his wife Katie and their two young children.
